Congratulations to all of the Teacher Grant Program Recipients!

We have recently awarded (18) WCCU Teacher Grant Awards, totaling just over $7,700, for the 2019/20 school year. Grants were awarded in values up to $500 to the following local Teachers or Staff members:

Chariho Regional School District:

Chariho Regional School District

(1) WCCU Teacher Grant recipient is from Chariho Regional School District:

  • Sara Reilly - Chariho Regional School District

Grant monies will help fund educational and social projects, including initiatives such as ‘Baking and Pastry'.

Exeter-West Greenwich Regional School District:

  • Amy Hubertus - Exeter-West Greenwich Jr. High School
  • Erin McKeen - Wawaloam Elementary School

Grant monies will help fund educational and social projects, including initiatives such as ‘The Children's Book Project’ and ‘STEAM Robots’.

Narragansett School System:

Grant monies will help fund educational and social projects, including initiatives such as ‘Revving Up the STEM Engine’.

North Stonington School System:

Grant monies will help fund educational and social projects, including initiatives such as ‘Wheeler Giving Closet’.

South Kingstown School District:

Grant monies will help fund educational and social projects, including initiatives such as ‘CCMS Drifter Buoy Initiative’ and ‘Memory Project Drawings’.

Stonington Public Schools:

Grant monies will help fund educational and social projects, including initiatives such as ‘Student Council’, ‘Finding Inspiration as an Author’, ‘Bringing the Solar Sytem to Life’, ‘DMS Invention Convention’, ‘Beating the Winter Blues’, 'Developing Social - Emotional and Behaviorial Competency thru Literacy', 'Connecting Student with Arab World thru Poetry and Rapp', and 'The Art of Mathematics'.

Westerly Public Schools:

Grant monies will help fund educational and social projects, including initiatives such as ‘Westerly SOUP - Share, Outreach, Understand, Participate’, ‘Peter Pan: The Play’, and ‘Read Like a Writer, Write Like a Reader’.

Why do we do this program?

WCCU recognizes the importance of education and respects the Teachers, Administrators, and Staff who work hard every day to create lessons that excite, engage and promote learning. Our grant program encourages learning opportunities outside of the existing school funded curriculum and enhances our commitment to our local communities.

Who is eligible to apply?
Teachers, Administrators, and Staff from the following school districts are eligible to apply: Chariho, Exeter-West Greenwich, Narragansett, North Stonington, South Kingstown, Stonington, and Westerly.
