Rotary Club of Chariho Elects Abate as President
Westerly Community Credit Union would like to announce that Jeanne Abate was elected as President of the Rotary Club of Chariho for the 2014-2015 term. Abate has played an active role in the Rotary Club of Chariho since joining in 2001. She has previously served the Rotary as Club Treasurer, Secretary, President, and has also held the positions of Assistant District Governor Coordinator and Assistant District Governor.
As President she will preside over club and board meetings, appoint committee chairs and members, conduct club assemblies, manage club finances and continue the projects and objectives set out by the Club. This is the second term Abate will serve as President and states, “I firmly believe that Rotary changes the lives of children and families in our local community and throughout the world. It is a privilege to be so heavily involved with this organization, and I am excited to lead our Rotary Club as President for another term as we continue to focus on ending Polio in our lifetime.”
Abate displays similar commitment to her community through her career at Westerly Community Credit Union, where she has been employed since 2000 and currently serves as Senior Mortgage Originator. President and CEO Steve White states, “Jeanne is a great example of someone who values her community and supports volunteerism. She is heavily involved in our community events and is a valuable asset to our company.”
