WCCU Donates $100,000 to Support Behavioral Health Care at Westerly Hospital

Westerly Community Credit Union (WCCU) has donated $100,000 to the Westerly Hospital Foundation to support the creation of dedicated behavioral health treatment rooms in Westerly Hospital’s Emergency Department. The donation builds on a 35-year partnership between WCCU and Westerly Hospital, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting our local community.

 “The health and well-being of our community is something we deeply care about at Westerly Community Credit Union,” said Andrew Rogers, President and CEO of Westerly Community Credit Union. “We are proud to support the Westerly Hospital Foundation in creating dedicated behavioral health treatment rooms within the Emergency Department. This important initiative will help provide a more supportive, compassionate environment for patients during vulnerable moments, while strengthening access to essential care right here in our community.”

 As part of an effort to modernize emergency behavioral health care in southern Rhode Island, Westerly Hospital plans to establish four to six specialized treatment rooms designed to enhance patient safety, provide greater privacy, and support treatment and stabilization. These improvements will also create a safer environment for hospital staff, first responders, and visitors, helping ensure individuals and families have access to quality care close to home.

With their continued support we can provide safer and more compassionate care for some of our most vulnerable patients.”
