WCCU Receives Community Hero Award

The Westerly Community Credit Union (WCCU) recently received the 2021 “Community Hero” Chamber Choice Award from the Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce.
In recognition of the impact of COVID-19 on member businesses, the Chamber decided to let Chamber members choose the reason(s) to nominate their fellow businesses rather than nominating for traditional award categories.Local businesses recognized WCCU for always being there to lend a hand through donations to local causes or volunteering in the community. WCCU’s Financial Literacy Program, teaching local high school and college students how to manage their finances, budget their money and understand credit was also recognized by SRI Chamber member businesses. Finally, WCCU was applauded for the safe environment they provided for their members and their employees during the pandemic.
